Leather For Tropical Weather

by DanikaRio on September 13, 2013

Its been quite a while since I wore this number. Just look at my unpermed hair! I actually wore this many weeks ago during the Bloggers Expo at DLSU-Dasmarinas where I gave a talk on blogging (if you guys still remember, I promoted it here). But more about the talk on the next post. Tonight will be a quick look at my #ootd.

So since it was an organized type of gathering, I decided to go a bit more polished and sophisticated, sleek and neat in all black– which I then realized was a not-so-good color idea because it was an outdoorsy campus and was (surprisingly) hot. I even arrived with a cover-up. But I had to necessarily put it away when I started to feel sticky all over. I really would have worn a lighter ensemble if only I knew. I should’ve researched! Next time, Danika, for your sake, do Google.

Anyway. It’s a good thing that this skirt, although made from PU leather, is very light and easy. I don’t think I’ve ever worn any other leather piece as breezy as this. I just loooove it.

To lighten up my serious black for the collage audience, I threw in hints of pink and nude.

It may have felt like the peak of summer during our visit, but that didn’t stop me from appreciating the campus. I enjoyed the many lush greens and gigantic old trees, the natural lake (yes, in the middle of the school!), the well-preserved historical buildings and even the “new” ones that reminded me so much European architecture. The “tourist” in me just wanted a picture with every pretty area. The whole place was so relaxing and serene and very out-of-towny (which, well, it is). You DLSU-D students should feel so lucky!

HYPE this look on Lookbook.nu!

black dress, sunglasses: NAVA  /  leather skirt, earrings: EVER NEW  /  necklace: SUITEBLANCO  /  bag: BERSHKA  /  heels: MANGO / photos by le boyfriend. Thanks a bunch, G!

Next up, a recap of my talk. I’ll be sharing some blogging tips so stay tuned! :)

Hi, Miss Dani! I still love your hair in these photos.

Anyway, your leather skirt is still stylish here in the tropics. I agree that it looks light despite the material. Going for black is not bad. I like how you used nude tones for your footwear. You look a lot taller in the silhouette that was formed!

I’d have to say that your candy accents in the form of your necklace and bag highlight your fun style. Your clutch is my favorite piece. :-D
