Going out of town during Holy Week is sort of tradition in our family. Many years, we end up in the overly abused Boracay and wind up celebrating with the one million others who thought of having the same vacation. But things changed for us this year! Thanks to my mom’s new addiction to Philippine travel blogs and tour sites, we ended up someplace new last last weekend– Camarines Sur! Now her goal (and our family for that matter) is to visit every single tourist spot in the country. And not just “Bora” anymore. #itsmorefuninthephilippines
Then mom called for company. :) 5 families. 24 people… 5 vehicles… 14-hour trip… 1 truckload of junkfood!
But, personally, it wasn’t that much of a better replacement. I still vote Boracay with much bias being the beach addict that I am. For 3 days, we bunked in CamSur Watersports Complex, or CWC, that is the most popular destination in the province. Well, for wakeboarders (or aspiring or the curious), the place might be all too great. They can have fun and wakeboard all they want with the advanced facility. But, for the non like myself.. maybe not too much. (Or maybe it was just because I really expected a beach) …Ok, but in all fairness, and I speak for the entire group, we did enjoy. :) Aside from the awesome company, we also appreciated the other things like the clean and comfortable wooden cabins (our rooms), the pool (though we did not try), the good food and relaxing garden views. :)
Aside from CWC, we also took the Legaspi Tour which was basically a trip to the Cagsawa Ruins (postcard view of the most perfect volcano in the world, Mt. Mayon) and Lignon Hill where we had too much fun taking a gazillion photos. We also travelled out to Caramoan (4 hours away from CWC) home of hit reality show, Survivor, for a very brief beach afternoon. :)
And that’s one down off mom’s list! Wonder where she’ll book us next… :)
Hope you’re enjoying your summer too! Take care!
